WHAT IF YOU DARED TO BELIEVE

DISCIPLES COULD MULTIPLY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE?

Most Christian leaders love Jesus, preach discipleship faithfully,

and still quietly wonder — why isn't it reproducing?

The answer isn't a new program or a better strategy. It's a shift in how you think.

Cynthia Anderson helps pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders

build disciple-making that is simple, faithful, and reproducible — the way Jesus actually did it.

If you are a pastor, missionary, or Christian leader…

You likely carry a deep desire to see people

not only come to faith—but grow, obey, and help others follow Jesus.

You care about discipleship.
You want it to last.
And you hope, quietly, that it might multiply.

But for many of us, that hasn’t been the reality.

Discipleship often feels:

• painfully slow

• like people want your time & attention but don't want to mature

• difficult to get busy laypeople to engage in

• and hard to sustain over time

You may recognize some of these experiences:

• You’re investing deeply—but most people are not discipling others (or even considering it!)

• Some growth happens, people like the program, but application quickly dwindles

• You feel responsible for challenging those you lead to make disciples, but it doesn't seem to be working

• You’re not sure what would need to change for things to begin to multiply

• You’ve heard of models elsewhere—but they don’t seem to translate to your own context easily

And over time, that creates a quiet tension.

Not a lack of faith.
Not a lack of commitment.

But a growing awareness that:

Something about the way we’re doing discipleship may not be designed to multiply.

What if the challenge isn’t effort—but design

Many leaders assume the solution is to try harder, do more, or find a better program.

What if multiplication isn’t limited by effort—
But by how disciple‑making is being structured?

Most discipleship is designed to:

• care well for people

• teach truth

• support spiritual growth

And those things matter deeply.

But they don’t always lead to disciple multiplication.

Because what we design shapes our outcome.

Multiplication is not something we add.

It begins when disciple‑making becomes:

simple enough to live out

clear enough to pass on

grounded in everyday obedience

THE 3 SHIFTS

**Multiplication doesn’t begin with a new strategy.  It begins with a shift in how we think.**

In The Multiplier’s Mindset, Cynthia Anderson describes 19 shifts that shape multiplying disciple‑making.

Here are three that often make the difference:

Shift 1: Enough

I don't need more stuff. I already have enough.

Shift 2: Leaders

Train leaders, not pew sitters.

Shift 3: Grow

Grow the Gospel through new and pre-believers.

These shifts are simple—but not always obvious.

Cynthia Anderson

Cynthia Anderson has spent more than three decades serving in cross‑cultural mission contexts across Asia, Africa, and beyond.

Her disciple-making journey surfaced an important question:

Why does disciple‑making multiply in some places, while in others it remains slow and dependent?

Through years of ministry, she observed that in some places, ordinary believers—often with very little formal training—were able to follow Jesus and help others do the same.

Today, Cynthia leads a non-profit she founded called Disciple Makers Increase (DMI),  has a speaking, coaching, and writing ministry called Dare to Multiply, and is the best-selling author of The Multiplier’s Mindset: Thinking Differently About Discipleship. She also hosts a weekly podcast called Dare to Multiply.

Through her ministry, Cynthia has seen 24 movements to Christ emerge to date—

not through a single model, but through ordinary people learning to follow Jesus and helping others do the same.

Her focus remains simple:

Helping leaders follow Jesus in a way that allows others to follow Him, too.
